U.S. Senate
Incumbent Sen. Martin Heinrich (D) is favored to win a 2nd term. This election took an interesting turn when Gary Johnson, the state's former governor and the 2016 Libertarian Party nominee for president, joined the race in August. Johnson is expected to garner significant support; we'll be watching to see if he can finish in 2nd, ahead of the Republican Mick Rich. 2020: Sen. Tom Udall (D, 2nd term).
Governor
Gov. Susana Martinez (R) cannot run due to term limits. Two of the state's three U.S. Representatives are vying to replace Martinez in what looks to be a competitive election.
U.S. House
3 Congressional Districts: 2 Democrats | 1 Republican
Highly Competitive: 2nd
Rep. Steve Pearce is running for governor, removing the incumbency advantage. While Donald Trump won this district by 10 points in 2016, Democrats have a very credible nominee in Xochitl Torres Small. She outraised her GOP challenger Yvette Herrell by about 4 to 1 in the 3rd quarter.
Others to Watch: None
The 1st and 3rd district should remain in Democratic hands. The 1st district incumbent, Michelle Lujan Grisham is Pearce's opponent in the state's gubernatorial race.
