President
5 Electoral Votes
Statewide, Nebraska has voted Republican in every presidential election since 1968. That is unlikely to change in 2020. Donald Trump won by about 25% in 2016. It is one of two states that does not have a winner-take-all electoral vote allocation: two votes go to the state winner, one for each of the three congressional districts. Only the Omaha-area 2nd district is competitive.

Omaha area District 2 has been decided by less than 5% margin in the past four election cycles. Incumbent Republican Don Bacon is seeking a 3rd term. Democrats renominated Kara Eastman, who Bacon beat by 2% in 2018.
The district draws considerable attention and resources in presidential election years, as its electoral vote is also competitive. Joe Biden has been leading in polls. If that plays out on Election Day, this district could be a Democratic pick-up. GOP incumbents in Districts 1 and 3 are expected to be reelected.
