Montana added a second district after the 2020 Census, regaining the seat lost 30 years ago. The at-large incumbent, Republican Matt Rosendale, is running in the more conservative District 2.

There are five Republicans and three Democrats seeking the nomination in District 1, which is rated Likely Republican for the general election. Among the Republicans is former Rep. Ryan Zinke, who held the at-large district from January, 2015 until March, 2017, when he resigned to join the Trump Administration as Secretary of the Interior.

Here are party-specific tables for the state's two congressional districts. Use the associated drop-down list to change the active district in the table.

State Senate

Republicans hold a 31-18 majority over Democrats in the Montana State Senate. Special primary elections for the vacancy in District 15 will also be held Tuesday. Members serve four-year staggered terms; half the districts are up for election this year.

Note that Montana has not yet completed legislative redistricting. In fact, the process is just getting started. As a result, this year's elections will be held using the existing district lines.
