Democratic Gov. Tony Evers is seeking a second term against GOP businessman Tim Michels. This is proving to be one of the most competitive gubernatorial races in the country. Not a single poll since mid-September has found the candidates separated by more than 2%, well within the margin of error.

These elections will take place using redistricted boundaries. Five Republican and two Democratic incumbents are expected to be reelected. Democrat Ron Kind is retiring in District 3; that looks more likely than not to flip to the GOP.

 

State Senate

Republicans control the Wisconsin State Senate, holding 21 of the 33 seats. Members serve four-year staggered terms; the odd-numbered districts are up for election in 2022.

Republicans hold a 57-38 margin over Democrats in the Wisconsin State Assembly. There are four vacancies. Members serve two-year terms.
