President ( Electoral Votes)
Safe Democratic
The state has trended increasingly 'blue' in presidential elections. Democrats have won the last four times, including a double-digit (13.5%) margin for Joe Biden in 2020.
Prior to that, Republicans were victorious in nine of the ten presidential elections from 1968 through 2004.

Toss-up
Safe D
The state gained a congressional district after the Census. The newly-drawn District 8 proved quite competitive. Democrat Yadira Caraveo won by less than 1%. It is a toss-up again this year; Republican State Rep. Gabe Evans is looking to flip the seat.
The honor for the nation's closest 2022 U.S. House race went to District 3. Republican Lauren Boebert won by fewer than 600 votes over Democrat Adam Frisch. Rather than risk losing in a rematch, Boebert instead ran in the newly-open District 4 on the opposite side of the state. As the state's most conservative district, Boebert is likely to be reelected.
While District 3 remains on the competitive map, it is a Republican-leaning area. As such, Frisch may have a tougher time of it without the controversial Boebert as a foil.
