President (11 Electoral Votes)

Consensus Forecast
Safe Republican

Except for 1964 and 2008, Indiana has voted Republican in every presidential election since 1940. That is unlikely to change in 2024. Donald Trump won by about 16% in 2020.

U.S. Senate

Consensus Forecast
Safe Republican

Sen. Mike Braun is running for governor. His successor is likely to be Rep. Jim Banks (IN-03).

Governor

Consensus Forecast
Likely Republican

Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb is term-limited. Sen. Mike Braun is the GOP nominee. He faces Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater.

Originally seen as a 'safe' GOP seat, the race has moved on to the competitive battleground. Polling has Braun up in high single digits, with Rainwater siphoning off close to 10%.

Braun's candidacy has been complicated by the positions of his running mate, Micah Beckwith, a podcaster who is also a pastor and Christian nationalist.

While no change is expected in the Republican 7-2 majority, there will be significant turnover. Incumbents Jim Banks (IN-03), Greg Pence (IN-06), and Larry Bucshon (IN-08) are retiring. Banks is likely to be the state's next U.S. Senator.

The only somewhat competitive race is in District 1, where Democrat Frank Mrvan is seeking a third term.
