President (8 Electoral Votes)

Consensus Forecast
Safe Republican

Aside from voting for Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996, Louisiana has voted Republican in every presidential election since 1980. That is unlikely to change in 2024. Donald Trump won by about 19% in 2020.

U.S. House

Consensus Forecast
1,3-5
Safe R
2,6
Safe D

In these elections, all candidates from all parties appear on a single ballot. If a candidate gets a majority of the vote, they are elected. Otherwise, the top two finishers meet in a runoff on December 7.

Court-ordered redistricting has turned District 6 into one much more favorable one for Democrats. Republican Garret Graves is retiring.

The other five incumbents - four Republicans and a Democrat - are expected to be reelected.
