President

Attorney General

Democrat Ellen Rosenblum is not seeking reelection. The winner of her party's primary will be favored to be the next Attorney General. The more prominent of the two candidates on the ballot is Dan Rayfield, former Speaker of the Oregon House.

Secretary of State

Democrat LaVonne Griffin-Valade was appointed to the position in 2023 after the resignation of her predecessor. She is not seeking a full term.

The winner of the Democratic primary will be favored to be the next Secretary. There are five candidates competing in that primary. The frontrunners appear to be State Sen. James Manning Jr. and State Treasurer Tobias Read.

U.S. House

District Party Comments
3 D Long-time Rep. Earl Blumenauer is retiring from this safe Democratic seat. The most notable candidates are State Rep. Maxine Dexter, Susheela Jayapal, a former County Commissioner, and Gresham City Councilor Eddy Morales. Jaypal is the sister of Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07). Dexter has received a large influx of funding support in the closing weeks of the race, with much of it in the form of ads attacking Jayapal.
4 R Freshman Democrat Val Hoyle is seeking a second term. While she's favored, it is not a safe seat. Two Republicans are looking to oppose her.
5 D Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R) flipped this seat in 2022, narrowly defeating Jamie McLeod-Skinner (D). McLeod-Skinner is back on the primary ballot, and she is being challenged by State Rep. Janelle Bynum. The general election is a true toss-up.
6 R Democrat Andrea Salinas is seeking a 2nd term; she has a minor primary opponent. Salinas defeated Republican Mike Erickson by less than 3% in 2022. Erickson is back on the ballot, as are three other Republicans.
