President (3 Electoral Votes)
Safe Democratic
Vermont has voted Democratic in every presidential election since 1992. That is unlikely to change in 2024. Joe Biden won by over 35% in 2020, his widest margin in any of the 50 states.
U.S. Senate
Safe Independent*
Independent Bernie Sanders, who caucuses with the Democrats, is expected to win a 4th term.
Governor
Safe Republican
Vermont - along with neighboring New Hampshire - are the only states that elect governors to a two-year term. Despite the deep blue lean of the state, Republican Gov. Phil Scott is expected to win a fifth term.
Lieutenant Governor
Attorney General
Secretary of State
U.S. House
Safe Democratic
Vermont is one of six states with a single at-large district. Democrat Becca Balint became the first woman elected to Congress from the state in 2022. She should have little trouble winning a second term.
