Michigan has 13 congressional districts after losing one based on the 2020 Census. Democrats hold a 7-6 partisan edge.  

The 7th district is among the most competitive nationwide. While incumbent Democrat Elissa Slotkin won by 5.4% in 2022, she is running for Senate. The closest district in 2022 was district 10; Republican John James prevailed by 0.5%.
