March 19 Democratic Presidential Primaries

This page will provide live results for the 4 states holding Democratic presidential primaries on March 19. Under state election law, the scheduled primary in Florida was canceled, as President Biden would have been the only candidate on the ballot.

Pledged Delegate Summary Results

Biden easily surpassed the 1,938 delegates needed to win the nomination last Tuesday, and heads into this week's contests with over 2,100. This includes 224 Florida delegates previously allocated to him due to the cancellation of the primary.

All Democratic contests allocate delegates the same way; proportional to candidates getting 15% or more of the vote. Some of the delegates are allocated based on the statewide vote, while others are based on state-specified jurisdictions. In most cases, it is by congressional district.

The 15% threshold makes it likely that the overwhelming majority (perhaps all) of Tuesday's delegates will be added to Joe Biden's total.
