Illinois has 18 congressional districts, 13 of which are held by Democrats. The new map - with one less seat - is favorable to Democrats, who controlled the redistricting process. The party could win as many as 14 of the 17 districts, although a few of those will be competitive, especially if it is a good year for Republicans.
