A winner has not been projected in these congressional races just before 8:00 AM Eastern Time on November 10.
Vote counts and race projections by Decision Desk HQ.
Senate
Republicans claimed the majority by flipping the open seat in West Virginia and defeating incumbent Democrats in Montana and Ohio. The party will hold at least 52 seats in January.
Overnight, Decision Desk HQ projected that Democrat Ruben Gallego will win the seat in Arizona.
That leaves Pennsylvania. While The Associated Press (AP) has called that race for Republican David McCormick, they have not yet been joined by Decision Desk HQ or some other organizations that make projections.
Assuming AP ultimately has it right on Pennsylvania, the final 2024 result will be a net gain of four seats for the GOP, giving it a 53-47 partisan edge.
House of Representatives
At publication time of this article, Republicans lead 216-209 in elections where a winner has been projected, just short of the 218 needed to retain the majority. The party will need to win two of the remaining 10 uncalled races.
The embedded counter above will change from 216-209 as more races are called, and you will see those winners highlighted in the embedded results below.
A breakdown of the party holding each of the ten remaining races follows. Incumbents are running in all but CA-47.
Democrats: AK-AL, CA-09, CA-21, CO-08, CA-47
Republican: AZ-06, CA-13, CA-27, CA-41, CA-45
Thus far, 12 seats have flipped, six from each party. Six incumbents - three Republicans in New York, two Democrats in Pennsylvania, and one in Oregon - have been defeated. See the Changing Parties table >
The Alaska election will go to a ranked choice tabulation if no candidate gets a majority. If needed, that will take place on November 20.
Seven of the ten outstanding races are in California, where it can take a while to count.
