2012 Election with Projected 2024 Electoral Votes
Estimate as of December, 2018
Barack Obama was reelected with 332 electoral votes in 2012. His Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, received 206. Had the projected 2024 map been in effect then, the outcome would have been slightly closer. Obama would have received 328, Romney 210. Romney's win of Texas, with its expected gain of 3 electoral votes, is the largest single factor. While Obama won Florida (+2), that gain was offset by his wins in a number of northern industrial states that will are projected to lose one each.
