Donald Trump upended the electoral map in the 2016 presidential election. He flipped the rust belt states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that had not voted Republican in a generation.
Trump also won Florida, Iowa, Ohio and a congressional district in Maine. Those states - now worth 54 electoral votes - remained red in 2020 and 2024.
